Effective Date: March 8, 2026
XFilter is a Chrome extension that filters posts on X.com (Twitter) by country. This privacy policy explains what data XFilter collects, how it is used, and your rights.
XFilter does not collect, store, transmit, or share any personal data. Specifically:
— No user account information is collected.
— No browsing history is tracked.
— No tweet content is sent to any server.
— No analytics or telemetry data is gathered.
— No cookies are used by the extension.
XFilter runs entirely in your browser. It reads the visible text of tweets on X.com to determine their geographic relevance, then hides or shows them based on your filter selection. All processing happens locally on your device. No data ever leaves your browser.
XFilter uses Chrome's built-in chrome.storage.local API to save your filter preferences (selected country and badge visibility setting). This data is stored locally on your device and is never transmitted externally.
XFilter requests only the storage permission to save your preferences. It requires host access to x.com and twitter.com to inject the content script that performs filtering. No other permissions are requested.
XFilter does not use any third-party services, APIs, analytics platforms, or tracking tools. There is no backend server.
XFilter does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children under the age of 13.
If this privacy policy is updated, the changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of the extension after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
